Dear Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita – I AM SORRY

I lost a bet.

If you don’t already know the story you can read it here.

  1. Meadow says:

Oh don’t be sorry – the auction is only off because they are very likely to be denied the discharge of bankruptcy. If they are denied, then they will have to sell off, auction off their property to try and pay off their creditors.

  2. Candace says:

The auction may be privatized to allow interested parties to purchase everything and then allow the Giudices to keep it.

Whatever the final outcome, it is still criminally wrong to have stiffed so many local tradespeople and to rack up debt of $11 million. We’ve heard that number so many times that it is in danger of losing it’s meaning. It is extremely difficult to rack up that much in debt. Extremely hard.

The simple fact is that the Giudices knowingly accumulated that debt, hurt subcontractors and try to pass it off as something that the public should understand.

You can’t get that far in the red without knowing that you are doing it. Teresa knew and kept spending.

    • Miss Anthrope says:

      100% agreed.

There’s no way that she could have been in the dark about this. Nobody goes 11mil in the hole without realizing it. At the very least, she must have known about the department store debt. Her cards had to have been declined. And if your Bloomingdales card is declined while you’re spending millions on other things then you know you’re in trouble.

It just really pisses me off that she thinks being 11 million in debt is an accident. Nobody accidentally overspends by 11 million. Period.

    • BonBon says:

Candace…anyone who can give 2 thumb’s down to what you said must be…….either a Jooceydice, Laurita or a Manzito. Have no fear, since they beieve so strongly in G-d, if they don’t get their due in DIS life, dey’ll get it in da next.
We can only hope dat T. Jooceydice forgets to pack her bathing suits for her entry to da hotspot down dere.

  3. WindyCityWondering says:

Here is what I don’t understand – if the Guidice’s petition for Chap 7 is denied then the trustees can determine to put them into Chap 13 – which is worse because then a plan is constructed to have you pay back your debt on a schedule created by the court. This was explained to me by a Trustee in Illinois and once you petition you do not have the right to remove your petition as you are in the system! He said many people go in asking for a Chap 7 and don’t listen to their attorney because they want that “fresh start” even if there is a chance they won’t qualify for one. IMO Teresa is taking the risk even though the lying about and hiding of assets is now out there in official documents.
All the information about the auction being called off is from Teresa – not a reliable source but the auction is such a small piece in this puzzling mess – win a battle but lose the war! She is working and raking in income….which will be applied to the debt once the decision is made by the court. This will take time because it is in the Guidice’s best interest to draw it out as long as possible because it will be the end of their fabulous lifestyle as they know it…..and then that little entity called the IRS is waiting patiently in the wings to exact their justice.

    • Candace says:

Long after the RHONJ is over and only good for an “I Love the 2010’s” episode, the IRS will still be a big part of Teresa’s life. Like maybe forever.

It is hard to decide if they really are stupid enough to be on a reality tv show & think this wouldn’t happen, or the lure of temporary fame made it seem worthwhile.

It’s not worth selling your soul to Andy Cohen in most people’s thinking.

  5. dreemz says:

I must admit I’m anxiously awaiting some consequences to befall the Giudice duo. How long must we wait?

    • Well, the government is most likely allowing them to them get away with all of this obvious crapola because they are running an investigation.
Money laundering and fraud cases can take years to build.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

agreed – what started out as Chap 7 petition has now turned into lying under oath, hiding assets and IRS non filing of taxes. This is the tip of the iceberg and the good stuff is yet to come! No way can anyone claim $11million in debt on the incomes they “claim” so eventually it will be revealed….and it will be fabulously unpretty!

  6. tweeterlaura says:

anyway you slice it – the giudice’s are living in a house of cards – fraudulant filings, joe said under oath, his father owns the pizza parlor yet theresa is pictured and captioned as owner on the menu and regularly refers to it as joe’s. the five years of unfiled tax returns, the bogus leveraged loans and forgery. the faux trappings may end up being the least of their concerns.

  7. I really wish the thumbs-downers would comment. Why a thumbs down? Care to explain? Oh…. that’s right, the truth…. TeamMLG hates that.

  8. Northeastgurl says:

No thumbs down!! I love a woman of her word! Right or wrong doesn’t matter, she calls it like she sees it folks.

  9. e-rizzle says:

Maybe being an attorney had made me super cautious, but I make damn sure to know where every penny is coming from on my husband’s side because he owns his own business. For all individuals there are paper trails required and no cash and/or direct deposit into his business account. Ignorance isn’t a defense to any of the potential crimes Mr. and Mrs. Juicy Joe potentially face. Anything having to do with “white collar crime” and tax fraud all fall neatly into the framework of when conspiracy, as a federal law, applies. Ergo, if you had any reason to know or should know, you are guilty of every single crime committed by any co-conspirators. So, basically, if one gets convicted of money laundering, they all do. Teresa is fucked regardless of how much she runs around and says she had no idea. Although, I will die of laughter if she goes states witness against Juicy Joe et co.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Co mingling of funds was really dumb on their part – IMO they think that having an LLC is a license to steal! The fact that Teresa likes to “play dumb” means nothing and she is definately on the hook but it would be fascinating to see her turn state’s witness against Juicy!

      • e-rizzle says:

Lots of stuff was really dumb on their part, the biggest being signing up for the show to begin with!

        • Miss Anthrope says:

Yes. Second dumbest thing was allowing a film crew to follow her around while she paid for things like expensive furniture with fat stacks of bills.

“We like, totally pay for everything with cash! Cause you know, the economy is like real bad and stuff!”

          So. Effing. Stupid.

  10. Candace says:

It’s the United States Department of Justice coming against them, eclipsing the IRS.

That’s about as serious as it gets, unless you want to get in trouble with Homeland Security.

This is a real question I am posing next and hope some one could come up with a credible answer.

Would any sane person put themselves (and a family of small children) through a season of a reality show, during which they could very possibly lose every thing they have and might go to jail?

What reason is sufficent to make up for the pain and shame you know is headed right towards each one of them?

How, how can this be worth it to them?

    • e-rizzle says:

It’s the reason most criminals get caught–they think they’ll never get caught and are smarter than everyone else!

It takes a measure of insanity to engage in the activities they did to begin with, so I really don’t think it’s that far fetched to believe that they honestly thought nothing of the reality TV show and whatever implications it may or may not carry with regard to their way of life or their family. I’d even go a step further and say they probably thought it would make them seem more “normal” and show they aren’t doing anything shady to begin with. That might just be why it’s worth it to them.

Or, it’s just worth it to Teresa because she can run around acting like she has all the money in the world and pretend she has a fabulous life and luxurious lifestyle, because that’s what seemingly is the most important to her.

I’m going with the latter. I don’t think Joe really gave a shit whether they were on the show or not and probably agreed just to make Teresa shut up.

    • Isn’t the schedule events for theses things

      1) DOJ – who strips them emotionally bare and bleeding, and in jail or on probation paying civil and criminal penalities.

then 2) the IRS – who picks the bones leaving them physically bare, too. There is no more bankrupcty protection from IRS. The will be paying them off nickle by nickle if that is what it takes. After their jail terms are served.

      Oh happy day.

  11. Dalai Mama says:

I’m getting whiplash from nodding vigorously at all the comments.
From a purely biological standpoint, given the enormous size of Teresa’s cranium, I simply cannot calculate in terms of spacial relations how she managed to get her head so far up her….
    Oh, never mind.

  12. Miss Anthrope says:

How any single household in America can manage to go 11 million in debt is so far beyond my level of comprehension. I didn’t major in economics but I was under the impression that only big businesses and corporations go that far under. Am I wrong???? I mean, clearly I AM wrong but surely this is a rarity? It effing has to be! It’s unreal.

I know I’ve already said it a million times but it’s worth repeating: there is NO WAY she did not know they were in debt. No way in hell. It’s not possible. We’re not talking chump change. This isn’t a “honey, you may want to cut back on the shoe shopping because money is a bit tight” situation. This is an “oh shit, don’t tell the IRS that your jewelry is real” predicament they’re in. And again, the fact that she tries to spin this as if it were an accident is just appalling. An accident is a $20 overdraft fee at the bank. An accident is bouncing a check because you forgot that Monday was a holiday and your paycheck has yet to be deposited. This? This is no accident. Not by a long shot.

I’m not exactly surprised that she’s throwing her own husband under the bus on this, but I am definitely disgusted by it. These chicks are just full of excuses. Nothing is ever their fault. It’s easy to see why Teresa and Dina are close friends. Whenever some shit hits the fan, it’s pretend it’s not happening or play dumb. I’d have so much more respect for them if they just fessed up and admitted that they screwed up. Shit, even DANIELLE admits to the more unsavory aspects of her past.

As for Jacqueline- I just wish we would see more of the girl who came out at the table flipping scene. I can see that deep down she knows the truth but is obviously too scared to stand up to the Manzo clan. Sad. On her own, without their threats, I get the impression she’s kind of cool.

    • Waxdiva says:

You are so on point re Teresa’s involvement in their bankruptcy. She is in up to her eyeballs. Her signature is on every piece of paper, along with Juicys. She is no innocent in this fiasco. She knew what she was doing and IMO, I think she was the one behind all the mortgaging, second mortgages, re-mortgages and cc charges. They have shuffled properties to the max and if I were T, I would be scared s***less. It’s amazing to me that she was making appearances on TV and in person, making commercials, etc, knowing that she is in so deep.

I also agree with you about Jaq. But she has to go along with everything. She’s pretty much stuck. Where is she going to go? Back to LV? Her name is not on the house she lives in. If she took off now, she would be in for a major and long battle with da Manzos. She hasn’t been married for 10 yrs, so she wouldn’t be entitled to anything from Chris (pension, retirement), except for child support and maybe spousal support and that certainly would not be enough to live in the manner in which she’s become accustomed. I feel for her.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

They all have to pay to play and it is catching up to all of them! Why they put their business on tv just makes it harder to keep dodging their responsibilities.

      • tuzentswurth says:

In Pennsylvania, no matter whose name is on property, if it was acquired or contributed to during the marriage, it is joint property. Legally, they both own equally all that is acquired no matter whose name is on it. How does NJ law figure these things in event of divorce or death?

        • Waxdiva says:

PA is an equitable distribution commonwealth; therefore, (just an example) if they were married for 3 years with property purchased by one spouse, no children, the majority of proceeds from the house sale would go to the purchaser. It’s not cut and dry in PA. There are a ton of factors that need to be assessed before any type of settlement is made. Sorry, don’t know too much about NJ.

          • tuzentswurth says:

Oh believe me, I know it is not cut and dried in Pa. If it was, how would the lawyers make money? I’m just saying, if a house or auto or any property is titled to only one person in the marriage, it doesn’t mean the other person has no claim or ownership. The court looks at the time it was purchased, where the money came from, how long the marriage has lasted and tons of other things. It is all considered marital property, not private property if it was acquired during the marriage, for equitable distribution purposes. Even a spouse who doesn’t work outside the home, gets credit for property acquired and maintained during the marriage.
I just wondered if NJ is different. Does one spouse having their name on a home mean anything there?
If you own a house free and clear in Pa prior to marriage, but it appreciates in value during the marriage, the other spouse has claim to half that appreciated value accrued during the marriage. That is what keeps divorces dragged out and legal fees endlessly high!

            • Waxdiva says:

Nothing wrong with that! Seriously though, Jaq’s name isn’t on the deed, nor is Dina’s on her house. NJ is an equitable distribution state, so I’m sure their divorce laws are similar to PA’s laws. It just makes it more involved and messy.

In many cases, the parties actually become violent when they try to reach an agreement as to how to split up the marital assets.
The main theory of equitable distribution is that a marriage is an economic partnership. Therefore, each spouse is entitled to a share of the marital property, so I’m wondering if Jaq or Dina had a pre-nup, which would really spell out who gets what. Sometimes pre-nups are a good thing.

              • tuzentswurth says:

Interesting thought about the pre-nup. That could make someone get a lot of botox, sit around looking deadpan and stay in an unhappy marriage, as long as the money is flowing. Now if I could just think of an example……..

  13. tuzentswurth says:

RCH, I need a tutorial for twitter. I am following some people, like KKB but don’t seem to get her tweets? It’s hard for me to follow…………..thinking makes my brain hurt. LOL
On this charity debacle…..if I donate to Project Ladybug, Dina takes her administrative cut out of my donation (seems to be a very BIG administrative cut), then gives it to the hospital which I’m sure also takes their administrative cut, leaving a small amount of my donation actually going to benefit anybody. People need to be very careful and research charities before donating and consider local fund-raisers that directly benefit individuals with catastrophic needs. jmho

    • If you aren’t seeing Kelly’s tweets then you are probably blocked. You will get the hang of it eventually. I learn something new on twitter everyday. Are we following each other? Whats your twitter name?

      • tuzentswurth says:

I just went with tuzentswurth. Why use different names. lol- again confuses me to keep people straight, blog names from twitter names, oy

        • tuzentswurth says:

I am following you. I am just lurking for now, it is hard to follow one sided conversations, I’ll catch on in time, it just moves so fast!

  14. THUMBS DOWN..GO TO SLEEP! says:

Guess who???? I’ll give you three quilt-y guesses. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Lina says:

You should take that apology back since apparently the auction is still on!!! http://ibuysss.com/2010/10/10/breaking-news-bravos-joe-teresa-giudice-auction-on-again/
This saga seems to get more interesting by the minute. The thing about Teresa is not so much that she didn’t know what was going on.. it is more of choosing to ignore what is going on. She is worried about what she has (materialistic), what she drives, and what her kids wear. Everything has to be not so much like the Joneses but more OVER THE TOP. Her stuff has to surpass her neighbors, which explains her estranged relationship with her sil. On Melissa’s wedding pic, the more modest Teresa was chestless and put in a corner (nobody put’s baby in the corner LOL). I suppose that Teresa thought she could surpass Melissa’s accomplishments… on somebody else’s pocket that is. I feel sorry for her… truly she is a soulless biatch, where the only things that fulfill her are objects and not love.

    • Waxdiva says:

No, you are incorrect. The auction catalog is still listed on AJ Wilner’s site; however, it states that it is postponed indefinitely and it is not listed on their calendar. It would be nice if before one posts that they do a little research first.

Here is the auction house site:
      http://www.ajwillnerauctions.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.main

      • Lina says:

Hmm thanks for the tip. However, this is not my report. Just saying maybe @PutYourHairUp should have held off on an apology since most of the info that comes out of Teresa’s mouth is BS. I don’t believe an auction is out of the woods yet since they are now dealing with having hid assets.

        • Waxdiva says:

True. I took out my frustration with posters who post anything with little backup documentation. I hope she will take back the apology.

    • Need a Hobby says:

The auction site now says the auction has been canceled by order of the Trustee. When I last saw the site after there were reports there was going to be a private sale, it didn’t have an auction date but still had info about full payment due by Oct 4th date. So the site’s since been revised to say the auction is canceled.

      http://www.ajwillnerauctions.com/index.cfm?AuctionID=559&fuseaction=home.auctionDetails

The appraisal was something previously agreed to. It can be of use whether there’s a public auction or a private sale. They can set minimum bids or whatever.
